In the next pages of Stiff the author talks of the human head. This included talking about human head transplants, and the experiments involved with this. Many of the experiments involved using dogs, and switching heads. Surprisingly, some of the transplanted heads with the dogs lived for two days or better. She also spent a lot of the time talking of cannibalism. Many of it included different beliefs of parts of cadavers that could help living people’s ailments. She also visited China to do investigate a man working at a crematorium, cutting off parts of the bodies, and giving them to his brother to use at his restaurant (turned out not to be true). She then talked of other ways to die, and about being cremated. I thought the book was very interesting and well written, but at times pretty disgusting. So, people who are squeamish, definitely NOT for them.
