Carry Me Home 1-48

Earl Gunderman (Earwig) is a sixteen-year-old boy from Wisconsin in 1940. He lives with his family, including his older brother, Jimmy. Jimmy is his role model and best friend. Earwig isn’t “mentally challenged” or anything, but he’s definitely a little slow. He doesn’t have a lot of great friends, so Jimmy always lets him tag along. Jimmy gets drunk one night and signs up for the military on a bet along with another one of his best friends, Floyd. Before Jimmy leaves for the military, he marries his girlfriend, Molly. Earwig has a really hard time with Jimmy leaving. Earwig doesn’t really have any friends around home anymore, except for a six-year-old neighbor boy, Eddie.
