Enclave 89-188

After some time spent in the Enclave they see that the Elders sent out a team of Hunters to go trade with the Burrowers they return with huge bags filled with the relics of the old days. Deuce could not help but feel uneasy as to how they acquired the relics. She hopes that they did not just kill them and take everything. Deuce and Fade continue doing their patrols pulling in good days work every time. Then one day in honor of all the relics they found they hold a festive feast in its honor. There was music and lots of food. Deuce helped her self to seconds of everything they had to offer. Then Crane one of the elite Hunters tells her that they are holding a tournament where all of the hunters get to face off with each to see who is dominate. She learned she is the 5th one to fight and will be facing Pinwheel or Pin as they like to call her. She was tall and skinny and would have greater reach than what Deuce would have but she does not have the speed she has. It was time to enter the ring to battle it out. They start to circle each other and Pin goes for the offensive and Deuce dodges the swing perfect and lands some good hits. When Deuce got hit Pin's punches rocked her but she could not land that many due to her lack of speed. Deuce then wrestled her to the ground showing Pin her dominance and Pin taps out before she passed out. The next fight she was to fight Crane and she knew this one would be tough. She got in some good hits but ultimately lost due to lack of experience and tapped out before he broke her arm. The last final fight was Fade against Crane and everybody was very excited for this fight. Fade was much quicker than Crane but Crane was much stronger and if he got a hold of Fade it would not be good. Every hit Crane would try to deliver Fade would dodge with ease. Fade goes for a hit himself and delivers but Crane was able to get a hold of him. Fade breaks free though and wrestles crane on the ground delivering countless hits to the face forcing Crane to tap out before he was killed. Fade was declared the best the Hunters had to offer. They continued the dance and Deuce went to calm Fade down. Fade then took her to the ceremony room to see if she was telling the truth about her not having anything to do with Banner's death. They took a blood oath and Fade then leaned in to kiss her and brushed his lips against hers and she liked it. The moral stayed high for many more days and then tragedy struck again. They return from a patrol late and find everybody gathered around. Stone was on his knees caring for a brat and was being accused for hording one of the relics. He did not actually do it the elders just said he did so they can keep the ideas fresh in everyone's mind. Fade and Deuce said they did it so Stone would not get into trouble and were banished from the Enclave. Twist helped them out with some supplies and then they left into the tunnels. They wanted to go topside so they find the Burrowers who where just fine and Deuce felt better about that. They took them topside and she was overwhelmed by the new sights and sounds. They stay in a building and she is startled by the sun. They head north at night because that is where Fade's father said to go when he was younger. They run into a gang and Deuce was captured and Fade was going to be hunted. Deuce breaks free and takes another girl with her named Tegan. They help Fade kill all of the Wolves that where out to hunt them and escaped. They made it to another woman's house that Fade knew when he was kid and looked at her maps so they knew which way they needed to travel for their next journey.

Between Shades of Gray 141-240

Over the next few weeks Lina, Jonas, and their mother continued to work in the fields for long hours every day, only receiving little rations of bread to eat. They were awaken every other night and ordered to the Captain's office to see if they would sign the papers to commit to twenty five years of labor. After awhile, some people started to give in so they would be able to sleep every night and hoping they would receive better treatment. Lina, her brother, and mother continued to refuse to sign however, along with many other people. Andrius's mother chose to sleep with the officers in order to keep her and Andrius safe. By doing this, Andrius and his mother both received better treatment as well as better care and more food. Beings Andrius had access to more food, he sneaked food out in order to give it to other people, including Lina and her family, who needed it more. Once winter arose, people were getting sick and many were dying. Jonas had gotten sick with a fever and nearly died, but another woman brewed him some special tea that ridded him of his illness. He slowly became more able and had gotten better after about two weeks. One day after Lina had gotten off of work, Andrius came running into her hut and told her that officers were coming to get her. When the officers came, they took her to the captain's office and handed her a big sheet of paper and colored pencils. They told her that she had to draw the captain's portrait. The captain then came into the room and set Lina's open file on his desk. He began to read it and said to her in broken English, "You're and artist?" Lina nodded her head and began to draw. When she was finished the captain took the drawing and gazed at it with a smile. He then left the room and told her to leave. As she walked out she grabbed her file and started to run back to her hut. Andrius then caught up to her and asked her what had happened. She told him and then told him about the file as she showed it to him. He was mad at her for taking the risk, but translated the Russian for her. The folder had information about her papa in it and told her that he was in a prison. Their was one word that he said he did not know however, and couldn't translate. Andrius then took the folder and took it back to the captain's office. A week later was Lina's sixteenth birthday. They threw a small party for her and Andrius had gotten her a book. She opened the present outside and when she saw it, she was overwhelmed with joy and gave Andrius a kiss on the lips, thanking him. A few days later, Andrius found Lina in the ration line and pulled her aside. He told her that people were starting to be separated and taken away, but he did not know why. He told Lina that Her and her families' names were on the list, but his wasn't.

Fallen Angels Book Response

Book Title: Fallen Angels
Author: Walter Dean Myers
Year of Publication: 1988
Number of Pages: 312
AR Points Awarded: 17

Literary Elements
Narrator - First person, "Told who?' I said  p. 1
Protagonist - Perry is a guy fresh out of high school from New York and is headed to Vietnam. He is timid and listens more than he talks. "Everyone around me talking about killing Congs as I sit there in silence."
.Antagonist - Beginning of book: At first it was the VC and a little bit of each other because they all just met and do not know each other very well yet. " You kinda little to be talking about somebody's daddy." He pushed the words out of his thick lips. p30
End of book: The VC are still trying to kill them so of course they are still the enemy and now their sanity is starting to fight them. They have to fight their minds to keep fighting from all of the terrible things they see. "When he picked up the child his shoulders exploded apart and every piece of his body separated into different directions. The child had been rigged with a bomb." p.230
Setting - The setting is the vast jungles of Vietnam. They spend a lot of time in the base they do not get into great detail where the base is exactly at but they are for sure in Vietnam." The longer you stay out in the jungle in the dark letting your mind wander, the jungle begins to consume you" p.189

Conflict - The conflict is both man vs. man. Perry vs the enemy. Another conflict is man vs. self. After all the killing he starts to question his moral standings and who he is as a person. "We went after them. Monaco shot one of them and the other stood up and threw his arms into the air. At his feet the soldier, still alive, was moaning in pain. I looked and saw they had cut his fingers off. I looked up into the face of the Cong soldier. He was young, no more than a teenager. He looked scared and tired, the same as me. I squeezed the trigger of the sixteen and watched him hurtle backward." p.251
Theme - The theme of the story is war is not made out to what it truly is. War is bloody, hopeless, and filled with grief and death. No matter what you hear on the news or read it is always worse than what it is made out to be. People die and get hurt but in order to keep moral up at home they do not talk about that, they just talk about the enemy dying. Life is precious and when its taken away from you that is when you realize what you had because now its gone. "I knew Mama loved me, but I also knew when I got back, she would expect me to be the same person, but it could never happen. She hadn’t been to Nam. She hadn’t given her poncho to anybody to wrap a body in, or stepped over a dying kid." p.237

Reflection
I enjoyed this book a lot. It has a real outlook on the Vietnam War the way it was fought. They get in such detail that you feel like your experiencing what the characters are feeling. This is the way war was meant to be explained in its bloody darkness. The characters are continuously bombarded with hopelessness throughout the whole book. It may be sad, but it was how it was, the truth behind the war. This book gave me chills in some of things they saw or what they did. I believe this book is the way war was meant to be told. The way the soldiers looked at war and what they experienced.

Enclave 1-88

After the second holocaust took place everyone has been forced underground to live in the train tunnels of the city. At a name giving ceremony Girl15 is given the name Deuce and six cuts on her arm to represent that her job is a hunter to protect the settlement. Her friend Thimble talks to her about her naming ceremony. The next day she reports to her job to be paired up with a partner. She is put with a mysterious man named Fade. He came to the Enclave from living out in the tunnels and topside by himself. They say its impossible to live out their alone but fade did it. They let him in the community and gave him a name. Many people do not talk to him though because of his history and being a outsider. Deuce's leader Silk put her with him because she knows that she is good. She wants to test how good she really is. They go on their first patrol in the tunnels looking for meat and other supplies. Fade shows her around the tunnels, its very dark so she memorizes the paths they take. He shows her how to empty the traps. Their other job is to also kill any freaks that may be around. Freaks are former people who have changed into these mindless eating machines. They eat anything that is dead or dying or go after anything that is not another freak. Their long claws and diseased flesh exposed skin make them very freighting. On their patrol they encounter their first set of freaks. Fade sneaks up on the first one and slit its throat and its dark diseased blood spilled all over the floor. One charges at Deuce and she grabs her daggers that were hand made by Thimble for her. She slices one right in the jugular and then hits in the chest and it falls to the ground. She then stomps on its head breaking its face and neck killing it. In the process of the fight she got cut on the side, her first battle wound. They return from a good days hunt with a good amount of meat and the blood of freaks on their swords. Their next patrol they go on they hear the banging of something against metal like a distress call. They move towards the noise and find a metal crate that smelled horrible. They look inside and a child was in there trying to stay away from the freaks. He tells Deuce and Fade that he is from another settlement called Nassasu that they trade with alot. He says that he needs to talk to the Enclaves elders. Fade grabs him and runs him back to the settlement fighting off all of the freaks that followed them. They take him to the elders and the child says that his settlement has been overrun by freaks and seeks help. Fade and Deuce are chosen to go investigate the town and see what has happened to it. They gather their supplies for the three day run down there and get plenty of rest and food. They head out and run for hours avoiding all of the freaks they can and find a old bathroom to sleep in. One stayed on guard while the other one slept and Deuce could not help but start having funny feelings for Fade. They are then found by freaks and forced to keep moving. They run the next day and super tired they found a abandoned train car that they could close the doors and lock them so they both slept in it and got a good nights sleep. They are again overrun by freaks and fought them all off and made it to the settlement. Freaks infested the place fat from eating everybody who once lived there. They head back with the news and get stopped by these groups of people with big eyes but were friendly and were willing to trade with their settlement for fish. They had many old relics and books from the past. They return to the settlement with the bad news but bring them the good news of a new civilization they can trade with though.

Anna Dressed In Blood Book Response

Book Title: Anna Dressed In Blood
Author: Kendare Blake
Year of Publication: 2011
Number of Pages: 316
AR Points Awarded: 12

Literary Elements
Narrator - First person, Cas “I know what to look for, because I’ve seen just about every variety of spook and specter you can imagine.” p. 1
Protagonist - Cas is a teenage boy who fights ghosts. He’s moved around a lot in his life, so he’s never really made close friends. He’s very sarcastic and funny, and occasionally kind of rude, but he’s still very likable. “The grease-slicked hair is a dead giveaway -- no pun intended.” p. 1
Antagonist - Beginning of book: Anna is a very deadly, destructive ghost who will kill anything and everything that enters her house. She’s crazy, and she shouldn’t be messed with. “‘She’s killed twenty-seven teenagers...that I know of.’” p. 38
End of book: The Obeahman is the spirit that killed Cas’s dad, and now is out to kill Cas. He’s an evil spirit and he will stop at nothing to kill as many people as he can. “My knife hand is pinned against the wall and he’s (the Obeahman) got me by the collar.” p. 281
Setting - The first one is just a general setting of the area. However, many important events took place in Anna’s house. “The scenery changed fast once we crossed over into Canada, and I’m looking out the window at miles of rolling hills covered in forest...a blanket of pines in colors of green, brown, and rust...” p. 23-24 “As I look up, I can see the house, abandoned for years and beginning to tilt, just a crouching black shape in the dark...The headlights flash on the base of the house, illuminating peeling gray paint and flat, rotten boards, a porch overtaken by grass and weeds.” p. 70 This sets the mood for the house as a very creepy, eerie place.
Conflict - The conflict is man v. man (if ghosts count as “man”...otherwise, it was man v. nature.) In the beginning of the book, Cas is battling Anna, but by the end of the book, he’s fighting the Obeahman. “Thunder Bay, Ontario, is our destination. I’m going there to kill her. Anna. Anna Korlov. Anna Dressed in Blood.” p. 18
Theme - The theme is that life and love aren’t always fair. Sometimes you fall in love with someone, and it gets ripped away, but you need to continue life and make the best of every situation you have. “...life doesn’t work like that. It doesn’t care about fair or unfair...Lately I’ve been thinking about a lot of things. Mostly about doors. Because that’s essentially what Anna did. She opened a door, from here to someplace else. And doors can be made to swing both ways, in my experience.” p. 315
Historical Context - The background for this story takes place in 1958 when Anna died. “‘Anna Korlov. Murdered in 1958.’ ‘By who?’ ‘Nobody knows.’ ‘How?’ ‘Nobody really knows that either.’” p. 36

Reflection
I did like this book. I like books that are wildly fantastic, books that could never ever happen. This was also my first time reading a sort of “horror novel.” I liked how it was very suspenseful and kept me on my toes. However, it was a little difficult to understand and keep up with at points. I feel like it moved a little too quickly in the climax. I didn’t especially identify with any of the characters, but I really liked the character of Thomas. He was kind of awkward and unpopular and a little on the weird side, but he kept the story interesting. This book didn’t remind me much of anything I’ve ever read. It was a little similar to the Twilight books, with the human in love with a non-human, but that was about the only similarity. I think this book would make a good movie because it has very active, dynamic characters, and they’re all very likable. I would recommend this book to any teenagers. I think adults might find it too weird with the whole “boy-in-love-with-ghost” thing. It definitely did not end the way I expected. I expected Anna to live and for her and Cas to be together. I do wish it had ended differently. I wish the Obeahman could’ve died and Anna still been alive.

Anna Dressed In Blood 301-316

Thomas, Morfran (Thomas’s Uncle), Carmel, Cas, and Cas’s mom are all at Anna’s house so they can fight the evil spirit. Cas is continually getting weaker, so they need to beat the Obeahman (evil spirit) as fast as possible. The Obeahman comes, and it tries to kill Carmel. Anna fights it off and drags it under the floorboards to where her mother hid her dress many years ago. Everyone hurried up and ran out of the house, and the house exploded. There was not even a trace of it. Thomas, Carmel, and Cas covered their story by saying they were attacked by bears. Cas wishes Anna could’ve lived because he was in love for the first time in his life. Thomas, Carmel, and Cas remain good friends.

Anna Dressed In Blood 201-300

Thomas, Cas, Carmel, and Will go to Anna’s house to perform the spell and figure out why she’s so strong. They figure out that her mother is the one who killed her, and when her mother killed her, she put a satanic curse on her that caused her to go crazy and kill people whenever they entered the house. She also took Anna’s beautiful white dress she was wearing and hid it under a floorboard. The dress that Anna’s ghost wore was all red and blood-stained, but the white dress was under the floorboards. Cas thought that if he dug out the nice white dress and put it on Anna, the curse would be lifted, and he was right. However, Will got really freaked out, and he still wants to kill Anna even though she’s a good ghost now, so he stole Cas’s athame to kill her himself. Cas goes to visit Anna just to see her, and she says she hasn’t done anything bad since the curse was lifted. However, on the way home, Cas hears on the radio that a body was found that was torn limb-from-limb, so he immediately suspected Anna. It wasn’t her, but this just presented a new worry; there was another dangerous ghost around. Cas, Carmel, and Thomas go to Will’s house to try to steal the athame back. When they get there, they find Will and his friend dead, and they have huge bite-marks in them. Cas is really scared because this is the same way his father died. He knows the ghost that killed his father has come for him now. Cas goes home, and when he gets home, he talks to his mom about the ghost that got his dad and is now after him. When they’re talking about it, they hear something come down from their attic. The spirit that killed Cas’s dad somehow linked itself to the athame when it Cas’s dad tried to kill it. It had been with Cas the whole time, and had just been waiting. Now was the right time, and it was slowly starting to drain Cas’s power. Cas had to get rid of it soon, or he would die. Cas, Carmel, Anna, and Thomas come up with a way to get rid of the evil spirit. They’re going to have to sacrifice Anna. She can kill him, but she’ll die in the process. Cas realizes that he’s in love with Anna, and he has been all along. They kiss right before they prepare to get rid of the evil spirit.

Between Shades of Gray 41-140

Lina, Jonas, their mother, and all of the people on the train cars continued to move from station to station until finally the train stopped. The train had stopped for a few days and one night Lina snuck out to go find her father. She searched from car to car yelling his name until finally she came to an all male car. She peered inside and saw her father among many other men. Her father then worked his way through the crowded car to talk to Lina. He told her that she needed to stay with her brother and mother and that he couldn't come with them, but would see them soon. Joyful but saddened Lina made her way back to her car. Her friend Andrius then went out to find his father, but could not find him. They both then climbed back inside the car and waited until morning. Once the sun arose, the cars started to move again. The cars continued to move for days only stopping every once in awhile to supply sloppy buckets of food to the passengers. Then finally, one time the train stopped it had stopped for good. The NKVD officers opened the car doors and began pulling all of the people out of them. Then they started to group them up along the side of the train tracks. A man then walked from group to group deciding on which groups he wanted for his farm. The group Lina and her family were in mostly consisted of women and a few older men, so they weren't picked. After the man left, they were the last group remaining beside the train. The NKVD officers loaded the group into the back of two trucks and began to move again. When the trucks stopped the officers began to yell at the group to get off and go into the bathhouse. The fact that everybody was going to get a bath lifted everyone's spirits. After they all bathed they were loaded back into the trucks and took off yet again. Once the trucks stopped again, it was at a beet and potato farm. The NKVD officers told everyone to get off of the trucks and ordered them to go into houses where they would stay. Luckily Lina, Jonas, and their mother could stay together and were all sent to the same house. When they arrived to their hut, their was another woman in there that told them they had to work for food and the harder they worked the more food they would get. The next morning, Lina and the mother were sent out to a field to dig a big hole while Jonas was sent to make shoes in a factory. When they returned to the hut everybody was worn out and had very little to eat. After they ate they went to bed but were woken only a few hours later. They, along with everybody from the other hunts, were sent to the commander's office to sing papers saying they wanted to work, were criminals, and would serve 25 years of hard labor before they were set free. Everybody began to burst out crying and started to panic, but a lawyer was there and said that they should refuse to sign it. He said that the commander and the officers wouldn't kill them until winter because their help was too valuable. He told everybody to refuse to sign, but say they would sign it later so they could possibly sign before winter hit if they had to in order to stay alive. Disheartened and saddened, everybody refused to sign.

Fallen Angels 300-312

Lieutenant Gearhart rallied everybody they got new orders to take a hill that has been crawling with Viet Congs. They reach the rendezvous position and are told to follow the ARVN up the hill to protect their rear. On their way to the hill they start taking heavy artillery fire and are forced to run for a tree line. They bunker down there and return fire to the wood-line where all the muzzle flashes were coming from. They needed to evacuate but it was to hot for a chopper to come in so they made their way to a nearby village. They reach the village and start clearing it out. Finally some gunships came in and cleared everything around the village and the medevac choppers where right behind them. They return back to the base and wait about week gathering their energy. They are again called up for another assignment. They are sent to look at suspicious activity by a river. They make it to the river and walk about 4 kilometers along it and do not see anything. Then they see something in the reeds beside the river. They open up on it and see blood splash in the water and hear the screams of the enemy in the reeds. They light up the whole bed of the river killing everybody. Perry and Peewee are then sent to cross the river and check to see if there is any activity on the other side of it. Not being the strongest swimmers it takes Perry and Peewee tell about midnight to get to the other side. They are then greeted by voices of the enemy, they open up on the voices and run away being highly outnumbered. They take cover in a spider hole that was dug by a VC. They wait for the voices to leave. They wait tell about sun up and then they hear the voices again and wait. They were moving out but one VC makes his way to the spider hole. He jabs a pole with a knife on the end inside missing both Peewee and Perry. He throws his gun in and then starts to climb in. While he is climbing in Perry grabbed his rifle and shot him in the back twice. He struggles and Peewee strangles him to death. They leave the hole a while later to look for their squad. They find Monaco laying up against a tree surrounded by VC that made him call in a chopper. The choppers showed up and Perry and Peewee opened fire on the VC and the bushes they were hiding in. They grabbed Monaco and jumped on the choppers. Perry was shot on the leg while hanging out of it and Peewee was hit in the stomach. They escaped alive and went to the hospital. They found out the rest of their squad is alive and good back at base. Peewee and Perry's wounds are both bad enough that they get to be shipped back to the states. Monaco had to return back to his squad. Peewee and Perry get on the plain and start their journey back to the states alive.

Fallen Angels 200-300

While sitting at their hooch they get word that another village is under attack and they are chosen to go in and see whats going on with it. They ride a helicopter there and everybody is nervous and anxious to arrive to the town. After Gearhart almost got some of them killed they have been a little edgy since then and question why they should be going. Perry also begins to notice the amount of black people in his platoon and the amount of dangerous questionable missions they make them go on. He thinks there is a kind of racial thing going on in the Army still and it makes him sick. They arrive at the town and there are bodies everywhere and huts being burned to the ground. They sweep the perimeter for enemies and do not find anything. They think they fled or possibly hiding so now everybody is really edgy. They search the huts for enemies and information and try to put out some of the fires they could handle. Perry enters a hut and searches it and finds this photo of a old man standing beside a bicycle with a smug look on his face. While looking at the picture he hears a click. Then he hears another. He turns around to find himself face to face with a Cong pointing a rifle right at his face. He froze up and watched him turn the bolt ferociously trying to get the rifle to fire. Then its as if he woke up and gripped his rifle hard and put it in the Cong's face and unleashed all 30 rounds in the magazine into his face. When he ran out he dropped the clip slammed another one in the chamber and emptied that one into his enemies face also yelling things at him. Peewee comes to him and grabs him holding him saying everything was going to be alright. Perry looks at the man he just killed, he had no face just a mash of different colors of flesh his eyeball hanging from a strand. They return back to the base and reflect back on the day. Perry was very uneasy after killing someone and Peewee stayed with him holding him tell he fell asleep. The days go by and the thought of the man Perry killed never leaves his thoughts for a second. He doesn't feel well and doesn't eat a whole lot any more and finds it hard to get back into the rhythm of things. They are sent to patrol a hilltop where they have been seeing activity. When they get there they are put under heavy fire again and Perry is hit in the leg by a round trying to make his way to Brew who was also hit and then Perry is lifted off the ground by artillery round and could not move. He then is grabbed by the collar and drug to a safe position. They put him on the chopper where he watched Brew die. They flew him to a hospital and spent weeks there recovering. He met Judy Duncan there the woman who he had talked to on his way to Vietnam and caught up with her. Perry returned back to his unit after some healing to his body had been done. He caught up with everybody and got back into the groove of things.

Between Shades of Gray 1-40

On June 14, 1941 the NKVD burst into Lina's house and told her, her brother Jonas, and their mother that they all had twenty minutes to pack up their things and be ready to go. Lina, Jonas, and their mother all rushed to pack their things. The NKVD officers then took them and loaded them in the back of a truck packed full with other people. Lina and Jonas wondered where their father was, but their mother was unsure. Beings he worked at the college, one of the men in the truck said "He's long gone by now." This scared Lina and Jonas, but their mother said everything would be alright. The truck stopped at a hospital and picked up a newborn baby, still covered in blood, as well as the mother and threw them both in the back of the truck. They then took everybody to a train station where crowds of people were running all over the place in panic. Families were getting separated and people getting beaten. Jonas was taken by an officer, but his mother talked to the officer and gave him her watch to get Jonas back. They then were all loaded onto a train cart with 43 other people. They began moving from station to station not knowing what would happen next and Lina and Jonas worrying about where their Papa was.

The Wolves tried to kill Deuce and Fade, but were not successful in doing so.
D. Setting- "He was right. When I looked at the ground, the terror dialed back. From that point, I didn't look up more than I had to. Tall things surrounded us, mostly blocking my view. Shards of glass and broken stones littered the ground. The air was full of sounds I couldn't identify, after having known only enclave noises. Wind rustled through rock, creating a mournful kind of song. Chitters and scrapes alarmed me. We weren't alone, and I didn't like not knowing what waited in the dark."  The setting created an eerie feeling and a feeling of helplessness.
E. Conflict- The conflict was man vs. man as well as man vs. nature. Deuce had to face the Freaks as well as face nature because she had never been Topside before and never experienced any of the noises and sights that Topside consisted of.
F. Theme- Not knowing what is going to happen next can be the hardest part of being able to survive in this world.
G. Historical Context- The fact that the book takes place after something drastic has happened on the earth describes the historical context of this book.
Reflection
I thought this book was one of the best I've ever read. It kept my attention the whole time and made me want to keep reading to see what would happen next. This book reminds me of the Hunger Games in a way because Deuce is forced to survive in a world she doesn't know, much like how the characters in the Hunger Games have to survive without knowing what will happen to them next. I think this book would make a great movie because it has a great story behind it and would catch the attention of a lot of people. I would recommend this book to anybody who enjoys action packed and thrilling books. In a way it did end how I expected it to, and I don't wish it would have ended any differently.

Enclave 201-260

Deuce, Fade, Stalker, and Tegan continued their way North in search for the place Fade's father had talked about. On their way they walked passed an old school that they went into in search for information about the place they were seeking and anything else they could find. All they found however, was a few old books and some food. Once they ate some of the food they packed the rest up, and headed back on their journey. They walked for a few days in the woods only resting for a couple hours at a time. They then thought they should rest for a full day so they sought out an old cabin that they took shelter in. When they woke up the next morning, their was a blanket of snow on the ground. Deuce had never seen snow before, but the others had and knew they should wait out winter or their would be no chance of survival. They stayed in the shelter all of winter surviving on resources they found in the wilderness. Once winter broke, they set back out on foot. After only a few nights they were attacked by Freaks. They fought all of them off, but Tegan was severely injured and couldn't walk by herself. Every time they tried to move Fade had to carry her. After awhile the injury had gotten infected and Tegan came down with a fever. Deuce, Fade, and Stalker decided to build a fire and wait for morning. Deuce then had a dream that told her to keep the fire going no matter what. When morning came, a man appeared with a wagon and took Deuce, Fade, Stalker, and Tegan north to the settlement where he was staying. Fade was then convinced that his dad had told the truth all along. Once they reached the settlement they took Tegan to the doctor and asked the man where they should stay. He gave them directions to a house that an elderly lady stayed in. They went to the house, knocked on the door, and asked to stay with her. Once they had talked about it she agreed they could stay, and they went inside.

The End.

Fallen Angels 103-200

A week after their encounter with the camera crew the men got to see themselves on television. They watched themselves fight and thought they all looked different on T.V. A day later they are rallied to go on a patrol to near town because of suspicious activity. They encounter enemies and are engaged in a firefight. There is heavy fire all around them and they all retreat back to the chopper that came to pick them up. Lieutenant Carrol was shot on his way there making sure everybody else made it. Perry found him on the ground and put him on his shoulders and took him to the chopper. He died when they arrived and the whole platoon was devastated. They continued on with their daily routine torn apart about their Lieutenants death. His replacement showed up Lieutenant Gearhart and rallied his new platoon and had a talk with him. He talked about how he knew Carrol and was a good man and how he is going to try his best to do what he did. They spent more of their time going to small towns trying to bring peace to the people exchanging gifts with them all and helping them with numerous things. Peewee found enjoyment with playing with all the children and keeping them entertained. Brunner got a letter from a girl he knew back home. She wanted him to marry her when he returned home. He thought about it and had everybody in the squad vote whether he should do it. Most of them said he should. Brunner decided that he wanted to and sent her a letter back saying he would. The next day they lay track for a bunch of VCs coming through the area. They plant claymores and set up in good positions around the treeline and wait for them to come through. Perry sets all the claymores and takes a spot in a foxhole they dug with Peewee. It gets dark out and they wait in the dark for the enemy to come buy. Someone yells and everybody starts firing at the tree line. Perry gets ready to set off all the claymores. Lieutenant Gearhart yells to Perry that one of the VC's turned around some of the claymore but it was to late he pushed the button and it blasted away the Vietnamese. That is when he realized that when he set the claymores he them all backwards and they turned them around and died. They sent up a flare for the choppers to come get them. Lieutenant Gearhart blames the attack on them because of him setting off a flare for the choppers to spot them. Two men were injured in the firefight one of them died, the new guy who showed up a couple days ago died. They were sad he died but glad they didn't know him very well so the pain of losing him was much less. They return back and the next day Perry talks to the captain explaining the battle and has him write home to the new guys family telling them that he was killed in combat.

Anna Dressed In Blood 101-200

Cas goes to visit Anna again, and she still doesn’t kill him, she just kind of throws him around and scares him a little bit. However, Cas isn’t really scared of her, he’s very intrigued by her. He doesn’t know how Anna came to be so much stronger than other ghosts. Cas calls one of his dad’s friends, Gideon, to try to figure out how to get rid of this ghost. Gideon suggests that he does some sort of spell to figure out what happened to Anna. Cas doesn’t really like the idea of witchcraft, but he’s willing to do about anything to figure Anna out. He learns that Thomas can do some witchcraft, and he also recruits Will and Carmel to help with the spell. When Carmel, Thomas, and Cas are at the library trying to learn things about Anna’s death, the police come and question them about Michael’s death. They lie and say that Michael disappeared and they have no idea where he went. The police sent out a small search party, but within a week, Michael was mostly forgotten. Cas goes to visit Anna again, and he discovers that she kind of has two sides. She’s a different person when Cas is the only one around. She’s nice and soft and she doesn’t kill people. But for some reason, whenever other people get in the house, Anna can’t stop herself from killing. She tells Cas that she doesn’t want to kill, but she can’t control it. She tells him that her dad died when she was real young, and her mom’s boyfriend abused her. She was on her way to a dance when she was killed, and after the dance, she was going to run away from home. She doesn’t tell Cas who killed her, but he thinks it was her mom’s boyfriend. Cas, Will, Carmel, and Thomas go to Anna’s house to try to perform the spell to figure out how she died and why she’s so much stronger than other ghosts.

Enclave 101-200

The Elders think Deuce and Fade were involved in hiding and hoarding important information and merchandise from the the Wordkeeper, and were banished from the Enclave. They were sent Topside where the Elders had said nobody would survive because of how harsh and horrible the world is up there. Fade however, is from Topside and knows how and what to do to survive. Deuce and Fade climbed through tunnels and fought off Freaks to reach Topside, and when they finally reached it, it was like nothing Deuce had ever seen before. Their were buildings and cars and all these things that she didn't recognize because they didn't have them underground. Deuce and Fade were trying to make their way to Pearl's, Fades old friend's, house and to a library to find out information on what exactly happened to the world, but were captured by a gang, the Wolves,  and taken to their hideout. Deuce befriended another girl there, Tegan, who helped Deuce and Fade escape and fight off the smaller and younger members of the gang. They made their way to Pearl's house and found out where the library was, but were followed by another gang of Wolves. The Wolves killed Pearl and followed Deuce, Fade, and Tegan to the library. At the library Deuce, Fade, and Tegan realized they were being followed and began to fight off the gang, but then Freaks attacked. Deuce, Fade, Tegan, and the Wolves then decided to work together to fight off the Freaks so they would all live. All of the Wolves died however, except for the leader, Stalker. They then all decided to stick together for the best chance of survival.
