The Help 1-100
The Help is written from three different point of views. Abileen, Miss Skeeter, and Minny. Minny and Abileen are both colored people who work in the same town. Miss Skeeter is a white woman who has colored people working for her. In the first one hundred pages Miss Hilly tries to get an act passed that states that all homes with colored people working in them must have a special bathroom just for the help. Miss Leefolt is Abileens boss and she makes her take care of her kid, Mae Mobley non-stop. Miss Skeeter wants to be a writer so she gets Abileen to help her with her column about cleaning. Minny gets a job out in the country that pays a lot better than any other job she has ever had. The only bad thing is, is that the woman that hired her did not tell her husband that she did. She is very worried that she will get caught and he will shot her. Minny also is trying to help learn how to cook. Unfortunately, she is the worst cook she has ever seen and Minny thinks this is why she wont tell him that she has hired help.
