Soemthing Borrowed pgs. 136-322

Dex and Rachel decide to discuss their relationship after the 4th of July, until then they continue to sneak around behind Darcy’s back. A bunch of the friends (including Dex, Darcy, and Rachel) go out. One night Darcy tells them how great of sex her and Dex had, and she mentally decides it’s over. She then talks to Dex about it, when she goes back to work she gets two-dozen red roses from Dex. Hillary starts to suspect something, because she saw Rachel talking to Dex, and asks who she got them from. Rachel says Marcus, then goes back to her apartment, and Dex comes over. He tells her how sorry he is, and that Darcy initiated the sex. The next day Rachel tells Hillary about her and Dex’s affair. Darcy and Rachel fly back to Indiana for their old high school friend, Annalise’s, baby shower. Rachel gets annoyed with Darcy’s ways of making Rachel feel bad about being single. Around the 4th Dex and Rachel decide to stay back, and they lie and say they have to work. This is when they’re supposed to decide what to do about their relationship. They spend all their time together, and then they admit they love each other. He never flat out says if he’s breaking off the engagement, but she thinks since he told her loved her, he will. Hillary come to work, and says she met a man, and that she believes he’s the one, and that it was love at first sight. That weekend Rachel goes to dinner with Julian and Hillary, and Dex and Darcy go out with some of Dex’s family. That night she goes out with Marcus, and they kiss, but go no further. They have Darcy’s bachelorette party, and then Darcy comes to stay with Rachel like old times. She stays the next day too, and Rachel remembers why she and Darcy are so close. The next morning Darcy calls Rachel and says she lost her ring. It turns out Darcy cheated on Dex, and then the ring got stolen by the guy’s maid. She says it was nothing, and she’s never going to cheat on Dex again. Rachel also decides not to tell Dex. They all go to the Hamptons together, and then Dex learns Hillary knows about Rachel and his affair. He’s angry with Rachel, but Rachel tells him to not talk to her again unless the wedding is off. Rachel plans a trip to England, to visit Ethan. The same next Dex comes over and tells Rachel that it’s over, and he can’t hurt Darcy. Rachel is devastated, and takes her trip to England. When Rachel gets home, Dex is waiting for her. Dex tells her that he called off the wedding. She’s overjoyed, and her and Dex get close to having sex, when Darcy knocks on the door. Dex hides in the closet, while Darcy comes up and explains to Rachel what’s going on. She tells Rachel that she’s pregnant, and that it’s Marcus’ baby. She also says she wants to have his baby and get married to him because “it feels right.” Darcy then sees Dex’s watch on the nightstand, and she finds him hiding in the closet. Darcy throws a fit, even though what Darcy has done was way worse. She leaves, and Dex goes to their apartment to get his stuff. He returns to Rachel’s apartment, and is going to stay there until he finds an apartment. The book ends with Dex getting his own apartment, and them having their first date post-wedding break-up. I loved this book, especially the ending.
