Time went on and Scarlett seemed to be starting to care more and more about Hayden. Juliet and Hayden seemed to start having problems. Scarlett liked the way that Hayden looked at life becuase it was different than how she did. He always seemed to have good mottos on how to live life. He wrote on a piece of paper six things that Scarlett needed to do in order to live and be happy. She was always so worried about making sure everyone else was okay that she hardly had time to think about herself. Now that she was caring about Hayden, she was willing to listen to everything he said. After Hayden and Juliet were fighting for awhile, Hayden got in his truck and left. From that time, Scarlett wanted to make sure she did everything she could on his list. She became alot closer to Juliet and found a new special bond linking them together. She continued working on her list given to her and found that after she did each one, she was alot happier than before. Toward the end of the summer, Scarlett's mom told her that Juliet was going back to Portland to work things out with Hayden because she cant just keep hiding from her problems. Scarlett was sad that Juliet and Jitter wouldn't be around anymore. After her mother and her dropped Juliet off, her mother told her that they should go to Africa to visit the Martinellis. She had always wanted to go and just go somewhere. Scarlett read the last thing on her list, which was you let go and then you start again. She smiled and told her mother that she would want to. Later, Jitter was born and named Tess. Juliet had somehow found her mother instinct and was very good with the baby. Her and Hayden even seemed to be getting along and working well together. When Scarlet and her mother left the hospital, Scarlett realized how lucky everyone was to have hayden in their lives and that she was ready to start over.
