Water for Elephants. P 200-335 (End)

Jacob and Marlena start seeing eachother more and more. Marlena tells him how her and August came about eachother, and tells Jacob they can't do what they are since she is married. It isnt until Jacob realizes that the elephant will listen to what you tell it, if you say it in Polish. Since Jacob knows Polish, he begins to spend more time with August and Marlena. When they finally get Rosie all trained and put her in the show, the crowd loves her. They throw money and everything and Uncle Al goes crazy. One night after a show, Marlena wanted to surprise August. She asked Jacob to help and he said yes. August walked into the tent where they were going to surprise them and had started to have a mood swing. He started freaking out and accusing Marlena and Jacob of sleeping with eachother. Then he and Jacob got into a fist fight. They were beating eachother up really bad when people finally came and split them up. August then started beating on Marlena. After August had hit Marlena, she decided she was going to divorce him. Her and Jacob end up sleeping together and later she tells him that she believes she is pregnant. Uncle Al tells Jacob that he must talk Marlena to go back to August or he wont like what happens. Jacob pretends that he is trying, but it only works for so long. Eventually Al lets August and Marlena together, and tries to have have Jacob thrown off the train. This doesnt work and they end up throwing Walter, Camel, and a few other men off. Jacob is very careful the next day and gets word that a few men survived the throw off the train and were trying to plan something. later on that day chaos breaks loose becuase then men who got thrown, have caught up and freed all the animals causing a stampede. Rosie ends up killing August and the whole show crumbles. Jacob and Marlena end up leaving it together to join the Ringling circus and later Jacob gets a job at a zoo and they love their life. - Mr. Janowski figures that since his family forgot him, he will go to the circus in town himself. He gets there and talks with a man in charge. The man listens to his story and when the cops come looking for Mr. Janowski to take back to the nursing home, the man says it is his own father. Mr. Janowski ends up going on the tour with the new circus.
