Charlie St Cloud. P. 1-306

Charlie is left in charge to watch Sam for awhile when there mom is gone. They decide to go to a baseball game and have to take the neighbors car to get there. On the way home, Charlie is looking at the moon from what Sam has told him and he doesnt see the truck that is coming on the bridge. They end up wrecking. Both of their spirits are in the air and they promise each other that they will never separate from each other. But then the rescue people are able to bring Charlie back to life. Later on after that, Charlie becomes a grave person at Marblehead cemetery. Since he has made his promise to Sam, he is able to see and communicate with all ghost now. Every night Charlie goes and plays with Sam since Sam has not crossed over, and Charlie doesnt want to break the promise he made to Sam. Charlie then one day at the cemetery sees a girl at her fathers grave. He finds out that her name is Tess and she lives in town. She has a sail boat and is planning on sailing around the world. Charlie becomes interested in her and they begin talking and seeing eachother. They have dinner and a date together and Charlie seems to like her quite a bit. Then the day after there date, Charlie is having lunch and a cop comes in and says that they have found pieces of Tess's boat which they think has been ruined by the storm. It finally hits Charlie that Tess was never actually there. She is like Sam is, and it is just her spirit that is there for him to see. Charlie goes to Sam and together they are able to figure out where Tess's boat is and where she might be. Charlie goes and gets her body. She is brought to the hospital where the doctors say that she is in a deep coma. Charlie finally realizes that he needs to move on with his life. He cant keep hiding and staying in the cemetary forever. So he goes to Sam and says a final goodbye. He goes on with his life and becomes a paramedic. He stops and sees Tess. She is awake and Charlie tells her how the two of them had really met each other and everything that happened that led up to him caring so much about her.
