Gone With the Wind 801-900

Scarlett is at Melanie's house, and Rhett comes asking where Ashley is. After Rhett leaves, Melanie explains that Frank and Ashley are members of the Ku Klux Klan. They went to get revenge on the man who attacked Scarlett. When the men come back, Scarlett learns that they were at Belle Watling's (a prostitute) house, that Frank has been shot in the head, and that Ashley is hurt. Belle, Ashley, and Rhett get called to court to testify about Frank getting shot, and they are all proven innocent. Scarlett and Melanie are both looked down on for being associated with the murder. Scarlett feels guilty for Frank's murder. Rhett proposes to Scarlett, and at first she says no, because she doesn't love him. However, he convinces her, and they get married very shortly. Scarlett and Rhett go to honeymoon, and she has nightmares about not being able to find what she wants. She's still not really sure about her marriage to Rhett, but he tries to assure her everything will be okay. He tells her that he will give her any money she needs, except money for her business, because he knows part of it will go to Ashley. All of Atlanta hates Rhett and Scarlett, and they try to basically shun them. Melanie convinces them not to. Scarlett enjoys all the money he gives her a little too much. She begins making friends with Yankees and other rich people, and kind of lets it go to her head. Rhett tries to warn her against it, but she just enjoys it too much. Scarlett becomes pregnant, and she immediately wants to have an abortion. Rhett, however, convinces her to keep the baby. She gives birth to a baby girl named Eugenie, and Rhett loves her so much. He's a very good father to her. Ashley implies to Scarlett that he still loves her, which makes Scarlett very excited. She tells Rhett that she wants to start sleeping in different rooms. However, this makes her very sad, and she misses him. She's very confused about her feelings.
