All The Pretty Horses. P 100-200

The boys are traveling and begin to see less and less civilization. Then they finally make it to Mexico and are seeing the difference in the landscape. John talks with Belvins more and finds out that he left because his stepdad was going to beat him. Rawlings still acts like he hates Belvins, but you can tell that he cares. One night there was a thunderstorm and Belvins said that it is in his family to get struck by lightning and die so he tries to find shelter. He removes all his clothes and leaves his horse while he tries to take cover. After the storm has passed, he has nothing left. All his clothes were washed away and even his horse is gone. Rawligns and John find the horse that someone had caught and kept. They decide to go and steal it back. They do, but are not too successful becuase people came after them trying to get it back. Belvins tells the boys that their horses will never outrun them and that it was his fault. He tells them to hide and he will lead the others away and meet with them later. The other boys do as he says and then keep moving to avoid any trouble. They finally come to a ranch. The boys are hired to work for on the ranch, and after a while working there, they ask if they can try to tame the wild horses that were brought off the mountains. The owner agrees and then the boys work and successfully break all the horses. People from all around come to watch becuase they are doing so good. Although the boys are successful, they wonder and hope that Belvins is okay. (AND I DO TOO!) haa.
